Club Meetings, Well currently THERE ARE NONE. THERE IS ALSO NO LONGER A NEWSLETTER, What you see is what you get Listed are ONLY the events that Local Cali Jet jocks like to attennd or might talk about attending. Since I am now somewhat into Electric planes, you will see some of those events listed here too. For a complete listing, please check the links below. But first, here are a couple of definitions
Jet Rally= A general Jet event where an entrance fee is charge to the pilots usually between $10.00 to $50.00 per event.
Jet Together=A friendly get together with no competition and no charge to participants. Basically a gathering of Jet Pilots to fly and have fun.

2007 Events

  • TUCSON JET RALLY- March 16-18, 2007
    10th Annual Tucson Jet Rally, March 16-18, 2007.Sponsored by the Tucson Warbirds Association AND Tucson International Modelplex Park Association (T.I.M.P.A.). Man what can I tell, this is my home field not that I moved to Tucson AZ. We have 160 unobstructed acres for radio control flying. The Paved runway measures (750' x 70') with six fenced pilot stations and a paved pit area – all free of dust. Steel ramada (168' x 18') for shade with concrete floor. A couple of Eletrical Hooks Up are available. Water & telephone are available. Eighteen large work tables (4' x 8') – no bending or kneeling to work on or assemble your aircraft. Modern flush restrooms – handicap accessible. Large gravel parking area with minimal dust & convenient access to ramada. official Website: http://www.tucsonwarbirds.com/

  • CALIFORNIA JETS-March 29th- April 1, 2007?
    Second Annual California Jets at ButtonWillow in Bakersfield Califonia Contest Director Kenny Falconer and Co-CD Dave Presta. California Jets is an open, fun-fly style event with very few restrictions. This is an AMA sanctioned event. Therefore, current AMA membership is required and a current AMA Turbine waiver if operating a turbine-powered model, come fly Buttonwillow's wide open sky, 3700 ft. runway. Awards for the following categories?

  • • Best Sport Jet (aircraft)
  • • Best Scale Flight (pilot)
  • • Slick Stick Award (pilot)
  • • Best Ducted Fan (aircraft)

    Directions from Los Angeles

    Take I-5 north towards Sacramento, once you reach Bakersfield, look for and exit STOCKDALE HWY and turn left at the top of the off ramp. Follow Stockdale and make a right on WASCO WAY. Turn left on BRITE Rd., the road will turn 90 degrees to the left and will become BUTTONWILLOW DR., make a right on the dirt road just after you cross over the California Aqueduct. Stay to the right of the dirt road until you get to the field.

  • Best in the West-April 14-15, 2007
    Annual Best in the West Jet Rally hosted by the Coachella Valley Fliers in Indio California. Flight ceiling clearance for up to (2000 FT.), a 600 by 70 ft. asphalt runway with 70 ft runoffs. 260 acres of unobstructed desert with Plenty of Shaded concrete pit area and Ample tables. We have Parking for over 400 cars and RV's Free dry camping and we are Close to Lodging and Casinos with Easy freeway access. Landing fee is $30 which includes free lunch and parking Saturday and Sunday (4/15 & 4/16, 2007). Dry camping is free and you are welcome to arrive anytime on Friday 4/13/07 and use the field.

    Ghost judging will occur Saturday and Sunday only. Awards will include plaques and merchandise. There will also be a pilot only raffle for many prizes including a Spektra DX-7 radio from Horizon Hobbies.

    Tucson Electric Aircraft Meet. Well why is this here, simple your Webmaster is Also the CD. First and Hopefully annual Electri Aircraft event held at the TIMPA field in Tucson Arizona. Opne to all kinds of Electric Aircraft. Awards will be devided into seperate and wide range to make sure the little guys gets some too.   • Florida International Jet Rally- November 2-4, 2007
    13th Annual Florida International Jet Rally Also known as the "THE PILOTS JET RALLY" November 2 - 5, 2006 Lake Wales Airport in Lake Wales, Florida. Nothing but flying on a silky smooth runway from dawn til dusk and no runway lights, and lots of fun.   • ARIZONA JET RALLY- November 17- 18, 2007
    18th Annual Arizona Jet Rally held in Superstition park in Mesa Arizona. This is an AMA sanctioned event, AMA Jet rules apply. This event is for glow ducted fan, electric ducted fan, and turbine jet only. 103db sound limit on Ducted Fan Jets. Flying times (all jets) 9am to 4pm Fri & Sat, 9am to 3pm Sun. Electric flying from 7am to 8:45am all days. Food vendors onsite for breakfast & lunch. Overnight camping allowed, no hookups. A pilots-only raffle will be held for some exciting prizes! Trophies will be given for the following:

    People's Choice (1st, 2nd, 3rd place) Best Finish

    Best Graphics and Markings

    Best Scale Flight

    Best Boeing Jet

    Pilot's Choice (Best Ducted, Best Turbine, Best Electric Jet, Best Electric Jet Performance

  • DFW JET RODEO-June 1-3, 2007?

  • LIBERTY BELL JET RALLY-August 3-6, 2006
    Annual Liberty Bell Jet Rally August 3rd will be a set up and test flying day. Pre-Registration Fee: $30.00 *must be postmarked by 22 July 2006* At Field Registration Fee: $35.00. Spectators, No Charge for General Admission! Pit passes available - $5.00 per day - Talk to the pilots and see the jets up close!
