California R.C. Jet Association

It is of the utmost importance that we AMA/SFA and CRCJA members observe, first of all, the safety rules of our particular sport. Everyone of us is hurt when carelessness causes an accident, hindering model aviation's progress.

The safety rules may seem to be designed to obstruct your enjoyment of this sport, but some guidelines must be set if we are to prove ourselves the responsible people we proclaim ourselves to be.

It is not a sign of intelligence or skill to be able to fly among or above spectators. It shows a definite lack of common sense. You may know what you are doing, but you have no way of knowing what anyone else will do. The unpredictable spectator must be allowed for, when you fly.

Remember the safety rules are designed to protect you, primarily.

It is to your personal benefit to make certain that no action on your part will result in an accident. The temptation to show off your flying skill increases in direct proportion to the number of spectators. While demonstrating your mastery of all the variables involved in this sport, it does no good to scare anyone.

The following rules apply to Any Field the CRCJA will get invited to Fly.:

  1. All AMA and SFA published rules are in force.
  2. All Local field rules are in effect.
  3. You are responsible for your aircraft.
  4. No flying in the Red Zone areas.
  5. No flying behind the Flight Line.
  6. Your name, AMA or SFA number, and phone numbers are required in all aircraft.
  7. No landings or take-offs closer to the pits than the designated runway are allowed.
  8. When other flyers are present at the flight line, no unannounced high speed passes closer than the far side of the runway edge are allowed.
  9. Current AMA or SFA coverage Membership required to fly.
  10. All transmitters and receivers, other than Ham Bands, must be gold-stickered/narrow band.
It is the responsibility of every member and guest to observe the guidelines set forth. By doing this we can proclaim the fact that we are responsible individuals, If however, it becomes neccessary to remind an individual that these guidelines are not being met or good common sense doesn't seem to be prevailing, we must react to the situation. An individual will be notified by a verbal request from a club official that he/she needs to comply with the field rules in a more accurate manner. If further actions on the part of the pilot dictate that the CRCJA take immediate action to protect the interests of the CRCJA, that member will either be expelled or again notified by the Association. At the same time the AMA/SFA will be notified of the infractions and intentions of the CRCJA. The Association has the right to Terminate a member if past attemps have not corrected the situatuation.

Please use common sense and enjoy a great day of flying.
